位于比利时（全称：比利时王国 THE KINGDOM OF BELGIUM）北部沿海斯海尔
德（SCHELDE）河下游右岸，有2条河底隧道相通，西距北海约50n mile，东有阿
尔贝特（ALBERT）运河直通马斯（MAAS）河，是比利时的最大海港。始建于13世
纪，1460年成为欧洲第一个商业城市，并为欧洲北部的商业和交通中心。目前已
发展为欧洲第二大港，也是世界著名的亿吨大港之一。它是比利时第二大工业中
心，主要工业有炼油、化学、汽车、钢铁、有色冶炼、机械、造船等。也是国际
钻石的重要贸易地。港口距机场约15km。
该港属带海洋性气候，盛行西北风。冬季潮湿多雾，夏季凉爽。年平均气温
